Alternative IV was based on the fact that the BETA did not recognize humans as a life form, information which was obtained through Alternative III.

Yuuko mocks Takeru for being so late to realize the truth. She offers him a handgun.

Sumika is suddenly in a state of excitement. Something's wrong.

The former 207B members need to finish training with the rest of the Valkyries, too. A-01's next mission is to serve as the 00 Unit's escort.

The brainstem has been removed from the cylinder. That was Sumika's brainstem…

Sumika is suddenly in a state of excitement. Something's wrong.

Takeru continues to talk to her, but she doesn't seem to respond. Time to get silly…

Takeru asks if there are any memories that aren't from her daily life, but the response comes instantly: no.

"I still want to stay here. We can keep each other warm… Because you're back. You'll be with me again."

Takeru asks if there were any memorable events in "this world" between Takeru and Sumika that Kasumi has read.

Kasumi only screams when Takeru is around.

Takeru was simply happy that Sumika wasn't in this world, and avoided thinking any more about what the brainstem might be because he was scared of the implications. It meant no more to him than that.

Sumika points out that Kasumi is doing ayatori incorrectly. Her personality seems to be stabilizing.

The two of them feel each other's warmth. "How was I warm?"

Takeru is no longer a wimp. "Thank you for coming back." Gratitude and relief filled Kasumi's heart.

Yuuko's documents in "The Other World" contained clever lies as well as the truth.

The materials prepared by the other Yuuko included information on what to do if Takeru abandoned his mission and ran away.

The role given to Takeru is to debug and adjust the 00 unit. Yuuko calls it "tuning."

The contents of the bag that Yuuko had given Takeru were a transporter that Yuuko had made with the materials she had on hand. Takeru is surprised at the unexpected cheapness of the device.

They pass through the door at the deepest part of the building. Unless the cause that made Takeru a causal conductor is removed, he will have no choice but to remain trapped in the prison of dimensions…

His peers are especially worried. So when Mitsuki tells him that it's a surface pilot's style to act like nothing has happened, he carves those words deep inside his heart.

The two easily broke through the fence and successfully entered. Yuuko tells Takeru that he may have time-traveled before, and somehow his memory of it is missing.

His friends will be ready to give him a good beating. Meiya teases him about how many punches he can withstand. Didn't she say, "For everyone?"

The entrance gate is closed. (Obviously. It's after hours.)

Yuuko drives her beloved car to the place where Takeru’s return to the "other world" will be realized.

The thing in the shape of a girl is the "00 Unit," the greatest achievement of Alternative IV. This is the key to the eradication of the BETA.

Cpt. Isumi tells Takeru that as a fellow student of Sgt. Jinguuji, he needs to do his best to not be an embarrassment. She's the leader of this unit.

Cpt. Isumi tells Takeru that with no other reinforcements coming, she's happy to have a star player like Takeru. He should expect to be badly overworked.

The Yuuko of the "other world" had already anticipated this situation. It was all written in the documents he had given her when he requested the formula.

After seeing how strong Takeru was as a trainee, seeing him this successful isn't much of a surprise.

Christmas is coming soon. Sumika doesn't seem to be responding to his promise to give her a present, which he made to her when she was a child.

That was not hatred, but sadness. Sumika's tears wet Takeru's hands. She asks Takeru in front of her why he left her.

Kasumi reports on Sumika's condition. It's a sign that things are changing.

Kasumi urges Takeru to talk to Sumika. Takeru readies himself to do so.

Sumika looks Takeru in the eye as he tells her that he's not going anywhere. "Really?" she asks. For the first time, a gentle color appears in her heart.

"Glad you understand!" Takeru gets a hard slap on the back.

The only way to thank those who died is for those who survived to use what they taught us. Only then can you accept the death of a comrade.

The main members of the unit are introduced. First is Lieutenant Suzumiya Haruka, who is in charge of the comms. According to Captain Izumi, "She may not look it, but she's a scary woman."
