Sumika's seizure gradually subsides in Takeru's arms.

Recognizing Takeru's presence, Sumika's appearance changed abruptly again.

Now an experienced soldier, Takeru wouldn't miss his shot. Takeru has his answer.

Takeru isn't ready to kill her. But Yuuko tells him that Alternative IV is about to get to the point of no return, and there's no need to hesitate.

Yuuko urges him to shoot her if he can't forgive her.

That day when Marimo-chan died. The day that Takeru's heart was completely broken... He's shocked to find out that Yuuko was behind it.

The product of the Alternative IV plan was the 00 Unit, the only being that could be recognized as a life form by BETA. They were lucky to find the perfect body for such a plan.

Alternative IV was based on the fact that the BETA did not recognize humans as a life form, information which was obtained through Alternative III.

Whatever Yuuko was doing behind the scenes, Takeru decided to lend a hand of his own volition. He's stopped changing his attitude just because he found out one single truth.

His emotions were showing on his face. Yuuko warns him. "It's fine to be emotional, but if you don't shape up, you'll end up as somebody's pawn for the rest of your life."

Tears are trickling down the corners of Takeru's eyes. Is it from joy at being reunited with Sumika, or is there something else?

Yuuko had already assumed that Takeru would escape then come back. Surprised and annoyed by this, Takeru finds himself glaring at her.

Yuuko answers Takeru when he asks how she can know that this device will be sufficient. She says that she was taught how to make it by her "other world" self.

Yuuko tells the surprised Takeru not to worry. This is enough to send Takeru back home.

"That was for going without telling everyone! And this is for making everyone worry! And lastly… this is my thank you for coming home safe…"

Tears are trickling down the corners of Takeru's eyes. Is it from joy at being reunited with Sumika, or is there something else?

The others leave. As she goes, Usuki gives Takeru some food. A welcome present?

Takeru had memories of his "previous world," but they were incomplete. The fact that the end point of the loop is death may be a factor in his dim memories.

Meiya talks to Takeru as if she's forgiven him. He feels so awkward that he can't apologize immediately.

Takeru wonders why the Unit 00 has taken Sumika's form. Why would they need to do that...?

When a human being loses the organs and functions that they're supposed to have, what makes them human eventually dies. This is why the 00 Unit is in human form.

Yuuko asks Takeru if the Sumika in this world means so little to him. He admits it.

Yuuko continues to press him. Are you afraid of killing people? Can't get your hands dirty? But still, Takeru lowers the muzzle of his gun.

The others are considerate of Takeru, saying that they haven't been able to talk to him since the coup and that that they hope they can soon. Takeru is grateful for everyone's concern.

The two of them feel each other's warmth. "How was I warm?"

The Strategic Air Mobility Fortress XG-70b boots up. Sitting deep inside is the 00 unit "Kagami Sumika," the brains of the XG-70b.

Takeru is no longer a wimp. "Thank you for coming back." Gratitude and relief filled Kasumi's heart.

August 5th, 1999. Operation Lucifer. In the depths of Yokohama Hive, the only person to be captured by the BETA and survive is found.

Kasumi reports on Sumika's condition. It's a sign that things are changing.

Takeru's trauma of the BETA is not completely gone. He’s given a hypnotic treatment to deal with the situation.

Takeru reports on the previous day's tuning. Sumika's various values have changed, but she is not progressing at the expected pace.

The Takeru of this world lost his warmth right in front of Sumika's eyes. The heat of life had left his body. He was literally torn apart.

Today, again, Sumika is consumed by the horrific memories she has received from the BETA. She seems to want to stop something...?

Yuuko remembers her best friend's regard for this pupil. She had terrible taste in men, but Takeru was the exception.

An alarm echoes in the reactor room. The charging is almost complete.

Takeru also recited the Isumi Valkyries Code, and his induction ceremony ended. Now it’s time for a lecture to get him caught up on the past week.

The 00 Unit continues to go on a rampage, knocking away Takeru when he tries to calm it down. The only thing spewing out of its mouth is its intent to kill BETA.

Yuuko told Kasumi to bring the 00 Unit to her office, even though they were supposed to be conducting an "interview". Takeru asks what's going on, but is ignored.

All the equipment involved in the transfer process is ready. It's finally time.

The role given to Takeru is to debug and adjust the 00 unit. Yuuko calls it "tuning."

Yuuko's documents in "The Other World" contained clever lies as well as the truth.

The materials prepared by the other Yuuko included information on what to do if Takeru abandoned his mission and ran away.

Sergeant Jinguji gave her students these words: "Use your experience to help as many surface pilots survive, even if only for a single second."

The guards finally enter the reactor room. They rushed to catch the trespassers, but they did not have a way to enter the reactor block.

Yuuko drives her beloved car to the place where Takeru’s return to the "other world" will be realized.

Takeru was able to play at being a savior thanks to Yuuko... Yuuko was able to get the formula needed for Alternative IV…

The transporter in the basement of the Yokohama base starts up on its own. Takeru has returned.

Takeru is suddenly asked about his feelings for Sumika. Yuuko keeps telling him that he’s not being loud enough.

Lieutenant Munakata Misae. Cpt. Isumi says she hates men, but does she really? Takeru isn't sure how to react when told he's got a shot with her…

The main members of the unit are introduced. First is Lieutenant Suzumiya Haruka, who is in charge of the comms. According to Captain Izumi, "She may not look it, but she's a scary woman."

If he wants to work with her again, then what does he have to offer this time?

Chizuru says that there's some place she wants them all to go now that Takeru is back. But where?

Thinking about whether there was anything that could symbolize his memories of Sumika and be a catalyst, Takeru came up with a certain "stuffed animal".

Takeru asks if there are any memories that aren't from her daily life, but the response comes instantly: no.

Then they ask him to join them for dinner, and Ayamine says he's coming without waiting for an answer. The two are in a bad mood when Takeru refuses, saying he has plans for the evening as well.

Christmas is coming soon. Sumika doesn't seem to be responding to his promise to give her a present, which he made to her when she was a child.

Kasumi urges Takeru to talk to Sumika. Takeru readies himself to do so.

Takeru is in front of her, and he calls out loudly. A vision of a BETA's jaws comes to her. Sumika is further trapped in the memories of her fear.

By the time of the operational evaluation test in one week, the 00 Unit needs to be usable. Takeru heads for the 00 Unit's adjustment room, unsure of how to feel.

A majestic giant driven by new war maidens. They're thinking of the time when they will fly above the battlefield as the blades of mankind…
