Meiya says that regardless of what problems the government and military have, it’s the Shogun's responsibility to fix. There was no need for the rebels to shed blood.

Yuuhi, the Shogun, bows her head to an American officer and UN army trainees.

Miki weeps at the fact that they’ve gotten people like Irma, who fights the BETA for her family and her homeland, involved in a battle between humans.

Irma and Miki exchange a traditional Japanese promise.

Sagiri says that no one in the government or military is capable of restraining their behavior, and that’s not Yuuhi’s fault.

The Shogun is in charge of the government. If a problem is occurring, the Shogun and army should be the ones to fix it. But that’s not what’s happening now.

Meiya weeps, asking why someone who feels so strongly towards his country, its people, and Yuuhi, would kill others. Her feelings are a reflection of Yuuhi’s own heart.

Chizuru attacks Sagiri, the man who took her father’s life. But even the new OS is no match for one of Japan’s best pilots.

Sagiri realized that he would have to dirty his hands to save Japan from danger.

The other rebels see Sagiri's death.

Sagiri lost the officer he’d respected as a father, and his daughter, the girl he’d grown up with, at the hands of his fellow man.

Yuuhi says that persuading the rebels is her duty, but Meiya says that it’s not.

After the coup, they have a new resolve to do what they can to save humanity.

Takeru and the other trainees are put in the front row as recognition for their efforts.

Chizuru speaks of her resolve at the grave of her father, the man who she was never able to work things out with.

Takeru thinks of something and leaves formation.

Takeru tells Meiya that the one who gave him the doll said it was proof that they were together, if even for a few days.

The Americans abandoned Japan, turned Yokohama into a wasteland, and now they’ve pointed a gun at the Shogun... Sagiri's wrathful strike peirces the enemy of Japan.

Major Walken is enraged to see that forces which would betray humanity for their own gain have even infiltrated his own unit.

Chizuru is defeated and Ayamine is weapong. Sgt. Jinguuji orders them all to retreat.

Tsukuyomi orders the others to retreat.

Ayamine opens fire on Sagiri just before he can finish Chizuru. Ayamine makes her feelings plain, and yells to him in a plaintive voice.

The other rebels see Sagiri's death.

Takeru stands on that hill, looking out on Yokohama.

They belong to different organizations, but if they’re all human, Yuuhi belives they all want the same thing at their heart.

One of the trainees appears before Yuuhi as she tries to go to persuade the rebels.

Yuuhi says that even when the rebels are put on trial and punished for what they’ve done, she wants forgiveness for their love of their country.

The older sister switches place with the younger for the sake of her beliefs. The younger switches place to protect the Shogun.

After hearing the plan, Walken asks Tsukuyomi if the Royal Guard is willing to go along with something so far from what Yuuhi wants.

When you find yourself hesitating, stop for a moment and have the courage to go back to the start. Don't hesitate to dirty your hands. Don’t look away from the weight of your duties.

Takeru quickly takes Meiya and retreats, with Tsukuyomi providing cover.

The warrior who loves his country disappears into the flames, entrusting others with the future of Japan.
