Takeru is ashamed of himself and the way he acted.

Marimo tells him it’s okay to be a coward. That if you know fear, you become sensitive to death, and hard to kill.

Takeru sits in front of his destroyed Fubuki, unmoving. He was saved from certain death.

Takeru's TSF had its recorder active. Drawing away so many BETA with the TSF's superior mobility allowed 207 to finish its ammo transport mission.

Takeru is suspicious that an explosion occurred in a non-live-fire exercise. He's not certain if he should continue the exercise at all.

207 is told to fall back to hangar 37 and bring ammo.

Takeru tells himself he can’t die here. The controls aren’t responding, the power's dropping out, and his cockpit turns black.

A207 gives a shout, encouraged by Takeru’s words. Sgt. Jinguuji watches over her former students.

The morning's exercises end with Takeru's unit getting an A evaluation while the other team gets a B. Takeru silently rejoices that everything is proceeding according to Yuuko’s plan.

Miki and Mikoto are scared that the veteran surface pilots will have it out for them. Chizuru and Ayamine are all fired up, saying they’ll need to win in a way that satisfies the veteran pilots.

Takeru is excited to try the new OS against veteran Surface Pilots. The OS has a new navigator voice.

The exercise is set to take place in (what’s left of) Negishi Forest Park. The Type-87 Maintenance Trailers containers are jacked-up one after another.
