Suddenly the Susano-O loses control and begins to crash. Its escorts flee to avoid being caught in the Rutherford Field.

Ozawa hopes that their soldiers’ sacrifices will not be in vain. Yuuko confidently says it will take more than the BETA to destroy humanity.

Takeru and Captain Isumi begin their mission. They head to the rear of the head where the main hatch of the Susano-O is located.

The Valkyries, who had finished clearing the BETA that had not been lured away by Takeru, head for the opening towards the Heavy Laser Class that Takeru created.

Lt. Hayase has full confidence in Takeru's determination to continue distracting the BETA until all the Valkyries have passed through the corridor.

Their wingman is too slow to react to a Destroyer Class's charge. It takes fatal damage to its engine and can no longer continue the fight.

Yuuko instructs him to retrieve the 00 unit and leave the battle area. Takeru is concerned about what she wants to do with the Susano-O.

Takeru forgets that remote control is impossible, and suggests using automatic control to get the Susano-O back to base. Yuuko thinks of having Cpt. Isumi enter the command directly.

Meiya: "I wish you luck, Captain." Haruko: "Catch you later, Captain!" Takeru: "We'll be waiting for you back on the Mogami!" Isumi: "You'd better be… now go!"

When asked by Ayamine if his luggage is heavy, Takeru replies in the affirmative. He's carrying a heavy burden for himself, and the entire world.

After a brief farewell, the rear flight follows the advance teams.
