Yuuko talks to Meiya as well, and gives her some advice. She tells her to stay away from Takeru.

When Takeru asks if Marimo's death meant nothing at all to her, Yuuko simply tells him that she doesn't need him anymore.

The next morning, school begins with a speech from the principal.

Takeru fled the classroom and headed for the roof. Takeru is terrified that someone else might die because of him.

Marimo is alive. Of course she is. There are no BETA here. He can feel the warmth in her hand that proves she's real.

Breakfast at the Shirogane household. The news talks about a murder last night in the city.

Takeru takes her to the hill with the legendary tree. He wanted to come here, where so many memories have been born.

Shirogane Takeru looks far more exhausted than a typical Hakuryo student. Yuuko realizes it’s the “other” Takeru.

12/16 is Takeru's birthday. Meiya tells him that he's not going to feel better staying at home, and suggests they go somewhere to celebrate.

Takeru tells her its her fault for not being in her office. Yuuko tells him to stop whining that she wasn’t immediately available to meet him.

He thought he came to comfort her, but instead she gives him words that hurt to hear. “You are our core. Anything that affects you makes the rest of us nervous.”
