The Fort Class begins to gather to protect the Heavy Laser class. A large number of other BETA block the path as well.

Admiral Ozawa, in command of the operation, orders the 2nd Division of the Combined Fleet to open fire. This is a diversionary attack to lure BETA swarms to the western coast of Sadogashima.

The BETA swarm could not be exterminated by bombardment alone. As a rain of shells fall, the Valkyries are forced to retreat to their defensive line.

Working in coordination with their comrades, they finish off the BETA one after the other. The XM3-equipped TSFs practice high-level three-dimensional maneuvering, a critical aspect of TSF close combat.

After converting to AL rounds, the fleet resumes bombardment.

Whisky Unit, composed of Imperial Army troops, launches for Sadogashima. Any that get too high up become easy prey for the lasers.

The Type 81 Tactical Surface Attacker Wadatsumi changes from underwater navigation to land combat mode, and fights hard to secure a bridgehead for the landing.

The Valkyries have the secured the launch point for the Susano-O's attack. They resupply while keeping a watch on their surroundings.

The fact that the Valkyries aren't being attacked by Lasers indicates that their target is likely the Susano-O. The BETA have powerful detection capabilities.

Heavy Laser Class BETA fire their lasers at full power. Rays of light far more powerful than those of a standard Laser Class fall on the TSF carriers.

Operators of the UN and Imperial Forces control the large-scale battle. They remain calm despite the many losses in the early stages of the operation.

The submarines carrying the Wadatsumi remain in the bay to support the landing.
